これによると、というか、Merriam-Webster's によると blog の語義は次の通りだそうです。

Blog noun [short for Weblog] (1999) : a Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer

ずいぶんと簡潔な定義だこと。ブログって何？と聞かれたときに、この返答ではぴんとこないですね。
