Teleo の使い方。

最近パターン化しつつある、使い方シリーズ。

上のエントリ http://d.hatena.ne.jp/ayustety/20050215#p2 で Skype キラーとして紹介した Teleo の使い方を、HELP ページを参考にまとめてみる。ベースになっているのは、Version 0.9 Beta のようだが、正式版が出てきてもそんなに大きく変わらないと想像する。

まず、Teleo の web サイトからソフトウェア（4MB ほど）をダウンロードして、インストールする。インストールプロセスはそんなに難しいものではないので、省略。

で、インストールが終わると、アカウント作成作業に移るのだけれど、「インストールが終わりました」とかそういうメッセージが出ないので、スタートメニューから Teleo を起動しなければならない。

（ここに記載されたメールアドレスでは実際にアカウントを作成してません。念のため。）

アカウント作成時に必要な情報はアカウント名とパスワード、そしてメールアドレス（アカウント作成プロセスの最後に Verification mail が送られてくる）。で、アカウント作成後 Teleo のサイトにいって、作成したアカウントの activation を行う。

で、ちょっとどんくさい事その１が、アカウント作成後の確認画面で、パスワードをそのまま表示していること。

どんくさい事その２が、作成アカウントの activation 時の URL にパスワードがそのまま含まれていること。

この辺は改良が必要だと思うが。

で、作成アカウントの activation 時に、とりあえず試すなら "30-Day Free Trial" ボタンをクリックすればよい。

ちなみに残りの二つのプランはこんな感じ。

a) Teleo Lite
Teleo Lite costs $17.70 per six months ($2.95 per month) and offers all the features of Teleo except for the inbound phone number. You can still place free PC-to-PC calls and place outbound calls to regular telephones using PSTN minutes. Activation includes $3.00 of PSTN minutes.

b) Teleo
Teleo costs $29.70 per six months ($4.95 per month). This includes unlimited voicemail, call forwarding, conferencing, and an inbound phone number that can be called from regular phones. PC-to-PC calls to and from other Teleo users world wide are free. Calls to and from regular phones are charged using PSTN minutes at the lowest rates around (see rate tables). Teleo activation includes $5.00 of PSTN minutes. If you want to avoid using PSTN minutes, simply get your friends and associates to use Teleo, and you'll be able to call them for free, anywhere in the world.

Teleo Lite、Teleo 共に含まれているのは一般電話への接続、Teleo 同士の接続、ボイスメール（留守電機能）、転送電話、電話会議。で、Teleo プランを選ぶと、着信用の電話番号が割り当てられる。

なお、Teleo Lite は 6 ヶ月で 17.70 ドル（一ヶ月あたり 2.95 ドル）で 3 ドル分の無料通話付き、Teleo は 6 ヶ月で 29.70 ドル（一ヶ月あたり 4.95 ドル）で 5 ドル分の無料通話付き。

あと、activation 時についてくる無料通話が無くなったら、追加で購入必要である。通話料金は日本国内あての場合、一般回線の場合には一分あたり 2 セント、携帯電話宛の場合には一分あたり 16 セントである。なんだか、ものすごく安いような気がするのだが。

なぜ、プランの話をここでしたかというと、"30-Day Free Trial" は Teleo プランの無料お試しなので、"30-Day Free Trial" ボタンをとりあえずクリックすると、着信用の電話番号を選択することになるからである。

まずは、着信用の電話番号をどの国の番号にするか選ぶのだが、実際には "USA & Canada" しか選択できない。

ついで、どの州の番号にするかを決める。ここではカリフォルニア州を選んでみた。

で、エリアコードを選ぶ。まあ、どの市・地域にするかを決めると思えばよい。ここでは、阪神の藪が移籍するオークランド・アスレチックスが本拠地の Oakland を選んでみた。

すると選択内容の確認画面が出てくるので、"Select This Number" をクリックしてみる。あともうすこし……

ショッピングカートの中身の最終確認画面がでてくる。トライアルだから $0.00 になっていることを確認して、"Activate" ボタンを押す。ちなみにトライアルでも 50 セント分の無料通話がついてくる。

"Your order is complete" の画面までたどり着くと、activation は完了。おつかれさん。

で、Teleo に戻って、Dialer タブをクリックして、"Disconnect" になっていれば、メニューバー [Teleo] - [connect] で Teleo サーバに接続する。

ここで、プロキシの設定ではまるかも知れないけれど、そこの回避策はまだ理解してないので、後回しで。

Teleo サーバに接続できると、status が "Ready" になる。これで、電話ができるようになる（って、「電話」じゃないから変な表現か）。

一般回線に電話する場合には、次のようにあて先の電話番号を入力する。

e) PC to Any Number
All calls, even local calls, need to include the country code, city/area code, and number. 1 is the country code for the USA. For example, for a local call in San Francisco, you would enter 1 415 515 1234, even if you live in area code 415. For calls to non-US numbers, add either 011 or 00 before the number - for instance, for a call to London, you would dial 00 44 XXXX (where XXXX is the London number). You would use this same format even if you lived in London and were just calling up the street, since the call is placed from our servers in the United States.

簡単にいうと、日本国内、たとえば 03-1234-**** にかける場合には、00 81 3 1234 ****、または 011 81 3 1234 **** とかければよい。

思ったより長くなったけど、ここまでのプロセスを踏めば電話をかけられるはず。この続きはまた今度。
